MINI-MISSION MINI-MISION

Sarah wanted to spend several days of her Christmas break serving a mini-mission with two of our sister missionaries to find out more about missionary life.  She has a great desire to serve a mission when she reaches that age. Here she is at the office with them before they left. She found out that being a missionary is very hard work!!

LA NOCHE BUENA Y NAVIDAD CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY

On Christmas Eve we had a wonderful experience going out with the bishopric and sister missionaries of Barrio La Florida to visit some of the members and take them a little something for Christmas.  Sarah said it was the best Christmas Eve ever!  We had a wonderful night giving our gifts to the Savior.  When we got home, we found a flood. That hadn't happened in about a year, but we got it cleaned up and then made some salsa chicken for dinner and Skyped with our grandkids.

The next day we prepared Christmas lunch for the office elders, nurses, and assistants who came to eat with us at the mission home.  We had a wonderful time with them and then we were able to Skype with our own missionary son.  Later on as we watched a movie we'd been given, Sarah went out and found it had flooded again!  We discovered the dishwasher was backing up.  Last time it did that it was because the drain was full of cockroaches!  Probably that again because the rainy season is coming and that's when they start coming out again.  Always fun!

ANOTHER MISSIONARY LEAVES OTRO MISIONERO SE VA

This month only one missionary left but he's a missionary that we will greatly miss.  He has been our assistant for over nine months and a very dedicated missionary until the very end.  His family arrived a week ago and since he was the only one leaving, they were able to be part of the farewell dinner and testimony meeting.  That was very special for all of us.  They were able to travel and meet people where Elder Johnson had served during his mission. What a wonderful experience they had. We are very grateful to have met them and to have had Elder Johnson in our mission.
