SAYING GOOD-BYE YET AGAIN! DESPIDIENDONOS DE NUEVO!

This week yet another group of wonderful missionaries left, including four great zone leaders, one sister leader, and district leaders. In two weeks another sister leader and our head mission nurse leaves (they also attended the farewell dinner this time). It is never easy to say good-bye. We hate to lose such wonderful missionaries who have done so much to further the work here in our mission. We know the Lord will bless them and that they will continue the work in their wards and stakes and with their families. We are going to miss them so much!!

Esta semana otro grupo de maravilloso misioneros se fueron, incluyendo cuatro gran líderes de zona, una hermana líder, y líderes de distrito. En dos semanas otra hermana líder y nuestro líder de las enfermeras de la misión saldrán (ellas también asistieron esta cena de despedida). Nunca es fácil decir adiós! No nos gusta perder tan maravillosos misioneros quienes han hecho tanto para apresurar la obra aquí en esta misión. Sabemos que el Señor les bendecirá y que van a continuar trabajando en la obra en sus barrios y estacas y con sus familias. Vamos a extrañarles muchísimo!!

MEETINGS WITH INVESTIGATORS, NEW CONVERTS, AND RETURNING MEMBERS

After stake conferences, we have a short meeting with the people the missionaries have brought that day to be able to greet them personally and give them a brief message. Also there are occasions when the missionaries bring a group to tour the temple grounds and we have had the opportunity to meet with them there as well. Below are a few recent pictures of those meetings.

Después de las conferencias de estaca, hacemos una pequeña reunión con la gente que los misioneros han traído a la conferencia para poder saludarlos personalmente y darles un pequeño mensaje. También hay ocasiones cuando los misioneros traen grupos para hacer un tour a los jardines del templo y tenemos la oportunidad de reunir con ellos allí también. Abajo hay unas fotos recientes de esas reuniones.

CHRISTMAS MISSION CONFERENCE CONFERENCIA DE NAVIDAD

I am so sorry it has taken me two months to get these pictures up!! In November we had a mission conference and a Christmas program, even though it was a bit early. Before we started, we took a mission picture. During our conference, we showed the movie "Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration." Many of our missionaries haven't been members long themselves and this movie is a wonderful portrayal of the life of Joseph Smith, the restoration of the gospel and early church history. Seeing a portrayal of some of the things they are teaching was very inspiring for them. Afterwards we had a wonderful hour and a half on family history and missionary work, which included the missionaries sharing experiences and testimonies of how teaching the doctrine of eternal families and family history has helped in the conversion process and in opening people's hearts to hear the gospel. It was a very spiritually uplifting meeting! After a delicious lunch, we had our Christmas program with special musical numbers by the missionaries who had prepared a choir and some other numbers. We also shared inspirational messages and videos about the Savior as did some of the missionaries. It was an unforgettable day!

Siento mucho por haber demorrado tanto en poner estas fotos!! En noviembre tuvimos una conferencia de misión y un programa de Navidad, aunque fue un poco temprano. Antes de empezar, tomamos una foto de la misión. Durante la conferencia, mostramos la película, "José Smith: Profeta de la Restauración". Muchos de nuestros misioneros no han sido miembros por mucho tiempo ellos mismos y esa película es muy bonita mostrando la vida de José Smith, la restauración del Evangelio, y la historia de la Iglesia en ese entonces. Vieron muchas de las cosas que están enseñando y para fue muy inspirador verla. Después tomamos una hora y media hablando de la historia familiar y la obra misional, incluyendo invitando a los misioneros compartir experiencias y testimonios de como enseñar la doctrina de familias eternas y la historia familiar ha ayudado en el proceso de la conversión y en abrir los corazones de la gente para escuchar el Evangelio. Fue una reunión muy inspirada! Después de un almuerzo delicioso, tuvimos el programa de Navidad con números especiales por los misioneros, quienes habían preparado un coro y algunos otros números. Nosotros compartimos mensajes y videos acerca del Salvador como también hizo algunos de los misioneros. Fue un día inolvidable!
