BAPTISMS IN PROSPERINA BAUTISMOS EN PROSPERINA

We attended a baptism that two of our mission secretaries had in the Properina Stake. This young man was a street contact they made and he is really progressing.  It's so wonderful to attend baptisms and to feel the joy they bring.  There was also the baptism of a young boy by his father who is a recent convert of the zone leaders. The boy had been attending church for quite a long time and had kept asking his father to attend with him.  His dream came true as his father was baptized the week before and then baptized him. He couldn't stop smiling all night; he was so happy!  The entire family is taking the missionary lessons now. What a wonderful evening it was.

Asistimos a un bautismo de un converso de dos de nuestros secretarios en la Estaca Prosperina.  Este jóven fue un contacto que hicieron en la calle y está progresando mucho. Es tan maravilloso asistir a los bautismos y sentir el gozo que hay allí. También fue bautizado un niño por su padre quien es converso reciente de los líderes de zona.  Este niño había asistido la iglesia por mucho tiempo y siempre invitaba a su padre asistir con él. Llegó realidad su sueño cuando se bautizó su padre y una semana después su padre le bautizó a él. No podía dejar de sonreir toda la noche; estaba tan feliz!  Toda la familia ahora están escuchando las lecciones. Qué noche tan maravillosa!

MISSION LEADERSHIP COUNCIL AND SPECIAL LUNCH CONSEJO DE LIDERES Y UN ALMUERZO ESPECIAL

The morning after our sisters conference, we did a special early morning temple session with our mission leaders and then we left to go to mission leadership council. At lunchtime, we left our mission leaders in charge of our capable assistants and we went to lunch with our son Josh's mission president and his wife (now second counselor in the Sunday School general presidency) and the second counselor in the YM general presidency and his wife.  They were here on assignment to do some training with several of the stakes in Guayaquil.  It was wonderful to be able to meet Josh's mission president for the first time!

La mañana después de la conferencia de hermanas, fuimos a una sesión temprano en el templo con nuestros líderes de la misión y después fuimos al consejo de líderes. En la hora del almuerzo, dejamos los líderes encargados de nuestros asistentes y fuimos a almorzar con el presidente de misión de nuestro hijo, Josh, y su esposa (ahora el segundo consejero en la escuela dominical general) y el segundo consejero de los hombres jóvenes general y su esposa. Estuvieron aquí para dar capacitación a algunas estacas aquí. Fue maravilloso poder conocer al presidente de misión de Josh por la primera vez!

SISTERS CONFERENCE!! CONFERENCIA DE HERMANAS!!

In January we had a sisters conference at the mission home.  We had 39 sisters and began with some time to socialize and then had lunch. Afterwards Pres. Dennis spoke and then each one of our sister training leaders did a presentation. Their presentations were all so good; we have the best sister training leaders!  Afterwards Sis. Dennis did some teaching and then we watched a talk on the Atonement by Elder Bednar.  When we were finished, we had "merienda"(a light supper) and everyone got on the bus to go back.  It was wonderful to get together as sister missionaries!!

En enero tuvimos una conferencia de hermanas en la casa de misión. Tuvimos 39 hermanas y empezamos con un tiempo para placticar y después el almuerzo. Después de comer, Presidente Dennis les habló y depués cada una de las hermanas líderes discursaron. Fueron todos los discursos tan buenos; tenemos los mejores lideresas! Al terminar ellas, Hna. Dennis enseñó algunas cosas y al final vimos un discurso de la Expiación por Elder Bednar. Cuando terminamos, tuvimos una merienda y todos fueron al bus para regresar. Fue maravilloso juntarnos como misioneras!!
