NEW MISSIONARIES!! NUEVOS MISIONEROS!!

We received fifteen new missionaries last week.  They flew in Tuesday morning and then we went to the mission home for lunch and a short introduction meeting. Then they went to the office to write their families and to have interviews. They slept in the temple housing that night and then went to the church the next morning for the training meeting and to find out who their first companions would be.  It's funny that some of the new missionaries resemble the companions they were assigned!  We know they will all be great missionaries.  We're so glad they are here!!

Recibimos quince nuevos misioneros la semana pasada. Llegaron al aeropuerto el martes por la mañana y después fuimos a la casa de misión para almorzar y una reunión de introducción.  Después fueron a la oficina para escribir a sus familias y para entrevistas. Durmieron en el hospedaje del templo esa noche. La próxima mañana fueron a la capilla para la capacitación y para conocer a sus nuevos compañeros.  Es gracioso que algunos de los nuevos misioneros se parecen a sus compañeros asignados!  Sabemos que serán gran misioneros. Estamos muy felices que están aquí!!

NINETEEN MISSIONARIES LEAVE!!! DIECINUEVE MISIONEROS SE VAN!!!

This past week nineteen of our wonderful missionaries finished their missions and returned home.  It was so sad to see all of them leave.  There were so many that we had to have two farewell dinners at the mission home. The elders were already here when we arrived, having come from either the Guayaqul North or South Missions when the Guayaquil West Mission was formed.  But the sisters were from the first groups of sisters we received in the mission over the first couple of months of our time here.  It was so hard to let them go.  This first year and a half have flown by!!  We now have less than half our mission left and all the missionaries, including the sisters, who come now will end their missions with another mission president after we have left:(  It has been a great privilege and blessing to serve with all these elders and sister missionaries during this past year and a half. We love them all very much!!

Esta semana que pasó diecinueve de nuestros misioneros maravillosos terminaron sus misiones y regresaron a sus casas. Fue muy triste ver a todos irse. Hubieron tantos que tuvimos que tener dos cenas de despedida en la casa de misión.  Los élderes ya estaban aquí cuando llegamos, habiendo venido de las Misiones Guayaquil Norte o Sur cuando fue formado la Misión Guayaquil Oeste. Pero las hermanas fueron de los primeros grupos de hermanas que recibimos en la misión en los primeros dos meses después de llegar nosotros aquí. Fue tan difícil dejarlas ir. Este primero año y medio han volado!! Ahora nos queda menos de la mitad de nuestra misión y todos los misioneros que llegan ahora en adelante, incluyendo a las hermanas, terminarán sus misiones con otro presidente de misión después de que hayamos regresado nosotros:( Ha sido una gran bendición y un privilegio servir con todos estos misioneros y misioneras tan especiales durante este año y medio.  Les queremos mucho a todos!
